Saw it last night and it's so much better than the first movie. Not perfect, but still a big improvement. Way more fateful to the source material, humor landed better, and the action sequences were a lot of fun.
The first movie was a 5/10 for me. It had it's moments and certainly better than most video game movies, but the plot was weak and it fell back onto way too many tropes from kids movies I don't like.
This one was a 7-7.5/10. Still had some pacing issues and not all the humor worked, but as a Sonic fan it delivered a lot more on what I was hoping the first movie would have. I'm looking forward to the 3rd one next month.
