To be fair the networks have stepped it up and are airing some pretty good comedies right now (Community, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, and to a lesser extent The Middle and Cougar Town) so the ratio of good to bad sitcoms is way better than it's been historically.
When it comes to everything else though they're still pretty bad, but at least we've got great cable networks like AMC, HBO, Adult Swim, Showtime, Comedy Central (mainly for The Daily Show, The Colbet Report, Futurama, and South Park; everything else is crap) and FX to fulfill the rest of our quality tv needs.
