Is the gay vibe between Phil and Lem intentional?

Or what?

reply

It's not a gay vibe. Phil is married and we see a couple of occasions of Lem's women (the two chasing him, the company lawyer). Their closeness is simply the stereotype of a couple of nerds who work really well together and are the best of friends.

reply

Agreed. No gay vibe. They're just two male friends who are not hyper-masculine.

reply

What gay vibe? They don't reek of cigar smoke, and they don't have tufts of hair growing from their ears, but they're masculine enough to suit me. Phil and Lem are great examples of metrosexual males. I'm female, FYI.

reply

Phil and Lem may not be macho, but they're certainly not metrosexual, either. Metrosexuals are heterosexual urban dandies - men who are inordinately concerned with their wardrobe, hair, skin, etc.

Phil and Lem were friends who were so close that they were sort of like heterosexual life partners. Except I wouldn't go that far, because it seems like their friendship was mostly a work thing.
