shareIf you only count the 11 episodes that actually aired,no they don't.However I recall Jay Harrington(when asked if Linda and Ted get together this season)saying they would. He might be referring to episode 12 or 13 then, which probably won't even air.Reminds me of the second season of "Joey",where Andrea and Matt LeBlanc's character never technically got together because they cancelled the show after 14 episodes. However they did shoot an additional 6 episodes, making the total of 22, where their characters did get together in the end and even discussed the possibility of getting married. Those final 6 episodes aired in most countries around the world(including mine),but not the US.All 22 episodes made it to dvd, though. They probably will do the same thing with "Better Off Ted".
shareAwesome. Do you remember the interview, I'd like to read it :-)
shareThe last unaired episode just hit the internet today and it strongly hints that they got together in the end.
shareReally? I was hoping he'd end up with Veronica. =/
shareJust a kiss and the Episode/Series is over.Great great show though.
shareTheres another ep after that one, unless the are in the wrong order on netflix.
shareTed had great chemistry with both Veronica and Linda. I would've been happy to see him get with Veronica but I must admit I had a big cheesy grin on my face when he and Linda kissed. :D
I don't wanna be a bitch but she is the fugliest girl I have ever seen.
I totally see how that would make sense too. But I really like them as friends. Even though Veronica has a lot of character development by the end, it's more like the character was already there, and we just got to see more of it with each episode. In reality, she works better as an authority figure above Ted, as well as a friend who he can talk to about business things because they both have so much experience working together. I don't see them hanging out that much outside of work, for example (even though it would be pretty awesome to see).
Linda is a type of foil for Veronica's character. She's more goofy, down-to-earth and warm. Basically a better fit for Ted (and his daughter) by the end. Someone who can slap some sense into him now and then when he gets too involved with work while not being perfect herself.
Veronica is actually the best character in the show, imo. But Linda seems to be a better long-term relationship option for Ted.
To be clear, it heavily implies that they start dating. So, as the series closes, they are sort of together. It's just barely any closure, especially since it was the set-up foregone conclusion since the pilot, especially since much of the series oscillated between ship-teasing them and, you know, the opposite of that.
I never understood the idea that Ted and Veronica could get together "for realsies". Them hooking up every once in a while was amusing, but it clearly showed what Veronica needed for a long-term relationship, someone like Mordor: intense, bizarre, and ferocious, i.e. the opposite of Ted.
Whereas Linda was basically designed to be his ideal woman, and both the actress and the writers allowed her to grow into her own character from there. While she did show a few zany eccentricities when it came to kids, making Veronica Rose's stepmother would be tantamount to child abuse.
Plus, no one wants Veronica to be softened into a mother figure. We see her bend just enough to be the (occasionally) loyal friend to Ted and Linda, and it's sweet, but Mommy Ronnie would ruin her character. Linda the Children's Book Author getting into zany mishaps trying (likely over-trying) to be Rose's New Mommy is a perfect extension of her character.
