Not good

I liked the original 1984 film. The remake is imo really lacking. So many mistakes were made and the entire thing seems rushed. changing the bad guys from chinese to North Koreans was a not a smart idea. I get it that they did not want to alienate Chinese audiences but still...The original with the bad guys being Soviet/Cuban worked because of the time period and cold war tensions. Also Josh peck isn't the worst actor but we would not have been my choice to play Matt. One of the mistakes imo was making Jed a marine . That really violates the spirit of the original movie. The tracking scene really annoyed me. There is no tension like the 1984 film. I felt that the characters were not fleshed out very well. Robert's transition to killer made no sense. Oh well I suppose you can't win them all.
