What did the head of the news guy mean exactly? He owns all the news networks right? So they have to listen to him regardless. He owns the company so there is no one company working for another. And why'd they have to pull the story?

It doesn't have to do with the other networks, the synergy is his news network not disparaging his airline, or more specifically suppressing info that should be made public to profit the airline.
