Best of the Series

I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise or the Mission Impossible franchise. However, I really liked this film. It was exciting, fun, and had a really tight script. I also thought Cruise's performance was well done. His hanging outside the building in Dubai was stunning. That is actually Tom Cruise performing that stunt.

Ethan Hunt and his team are framed for a bombing attack on the Kremlin. Their unit is shut down and they are off the grid. They track the man behind the attack who has obtained nuclear launch codes and is intending to launch a nuke against the US. His reasoning is kind of over the top, but that is not really the point. Cruise, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner make a really good team. Their chemistry is good and each team member has a specific role as opposed to just being there for a plot device.

The action sequences are outstanding. The aforementioned scaling of the tallest building in the world and the sand storm chase are both done exceptionally well. The plot flows along quite well and the gadgets are exceptional without being completely unrealistic.

I'm looking forward to watching Rogue Nation.
