great score, why no soundtrack

the score to "let me in" by Michael giacchino is awesome, I listen to it 5 - 6 times a year from beginning to end. I wish all the remaining songs were released on a soundtrack. here is a song list of songs:

"let's dance" by david bowie

"turning Japanese" by the vapors

"do you really want to hurt me?" by culture club

"time (clock of your heart)" by culture club

"burnin' for you" by blue oyster cult

"doot doot" by fruer

"breakup song" by the greg kihn band

"farewell love scene (from "romeo & Juliet")" by nina rota

"now and later" jingle

note:
I know that a soundtrack wasn't released probably for legal reasons, ie securing rights to have the songs on a soundtrack and that there are only 8 songs (9 if you include the "now and later" jingle) but, it would have been nice to have all the songs on one album just as a convenience, especially since "now and later" is unavailable to buy.

I wonder if it was considered too much trouble by 2010 to even bother. Music sales were really falling off by that time.

I guess it's good that we live in a time where we can put it together ourselves though. With the notable exception of the Now and Later jingle. An enterprising person could probably find that one too I'll bet.
