TNT Show Should Oskar be overweight?

With only comedies, overweight actors are not usually the lead for various superficial reasons. Should they close their eyes and roll the dice on an overweight Oskar? He does not have to be massive, the book likely just had him a bit chunky. I personally think it added to the character being vulnerable to Eli and being picked on. Plus the piggy jokes would make more sense. Oskar from LTROI was a stick.

I doubt they'll have a chubby kid. Already they're talking of making him 16 so they'll probably make him some teen heartthrob.

With only comedies, overweight actors are not usually the lead for various superficial reasons.

I would like them to go with a heavier kid. The first thing that popped into my head was Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones. He is as far as it gets from typical casting and he is probably the most popular actor from the most popular TV show going. So maybe that proved they don't have to play it "safe".
