Stupid Behaviour Detracted From The Realism of Plot

Just watching this movie now on The Horror Channel, but the interest is unfortunately now waning fast. It began so good too, and I really started to care about the characters - that is, until they started behaving stupidly (how many times have we seen this in horror movies?) and unrealistically.

For instance, why did the female protagonist suddenly display an almost incredible spurt of courage and decide to go back into the funeral/morgue place, the very same place from where she had flown earlier in sheer terror from the maniac who'd abducted her??

Another irritating thing: that simpleton-like guy to whose house they fled and asked him to contact the cops via his computer. Why on earth does he display hardly any fear at tall and start acting the goat, when he knows there is a deranged masked killer on the loose?

I'm watching this now and those two examples are dwarfed by two things.

For some reason the girl can't seem to say to anyone "there is a killer after me. He WILL kill you."

And the store clerk, who I get is a kid, but the girl was a hair away from being in shock, he should've shot as soon as he saw the mask. Furthermore he still didnt shoot after the guy pulled a big knife.

That one could also go into the fact that a flesh and blood killer walked into a shotgun. But since he's the killer I can pass that.
