...landlines? really? 2009?
I'm watching this now and its really offputing. The second one also has internet, but no landline?

What will happen next?
Let me guess..... He left the car outside in the front, right? And the killer will find them, right?

How hard is it to write a proper scenario these days?

I didn't have a landline for a long time. But I had a cell. A lot of people now neglect a landline in place of a cell.

Totally agree. Given that this was set in a rural area I'd have a thought that a working telephone would have been an essential.

Not only was the area rural, but the nearest police station was 100 miles away.

I haven't had a landline in 10 years, the second place with internet and no phone is the mortuary, it had a phone but she pulled the cord outta the wall while on with 911 at the beginning of the film.

The movie really irked me with the ridiculous ways it contrived to keep people from having a phone to call for help.
