Borderline-retarded characters

I know the horror genre (particularly slasher movies) are known for stupid characters but JEEZ this movie takes the cake (hell, it takes the whole friggin bakery!).

Take any decision any character makes.

How do these people even get themselves dressed in the morning?

For example,

1) The camera says "low battery" and then turns itself off...Princess shakes it and is like "WTF happened?!"

2) Using a corded phone like it's a cellphone and then continuing to talk idiotically into it after the cord snaps.

3) Guy who owns the store: confronts killer with a gun...but just stands there and doesn't shoot. Also, girl tells him to not shoot (WTF??)

4) Everyone listens to the amnesiac, incoherent girl without question.

5) Locked safe indoors awaiting for your friend to return with a gun. Stay there in safety? Heck no, let's go outside!

I started watching this today, I haven't finished it yet but I agree these are some of the dumbest people in a slasher film. That's really saying a lot, especially when the cast of both Blood Feast movies seem a lot smarter than these hicks. It is a fun movie so far but every time someone speaks it's hard not to cringe.

I was going to start a thread stating the same thing. These people are idiots through the entire film. They make it real easy for the killer to get them.

I completely agree, and this is the biggest problem i have with this movie. However it seems to be a recent trend, if the characters are not totally stupid, then they are so unlikable that i don't care about what happens in the movie at all.

Of course, having nice intelligent people would require the writers to actually, you know, THINK about how the killer gets them.

They are all complete idiots. To add some more,

*I still do not get why they went back Stephen(the guy who's mom dies)'s house and chose to sit there. What purpose did that serve? Then taking the body out of the car.
*Why reload a gone over a dead body with holes in it?
*Why shoot at a metal mask as if the bullets will go through?
*Someone you do not even know receives a text message calling them a rude word and the only reasonable thing to do is of course take a gun and kill them.
*Not noticing that the walkie talkie was playing a recording was just idiotic.
*While the guy is killing the girl tied to the coffin, it makes perfect sense to beat on doors and walls instead of taking a sharp object and killing him.
*Even though there is a serial killer on the loose, still take your brother-in-law's feelings into consideration and risk dying to cover up your wife's body.
*I also do not get why these people do not try to open the driver's door to get into an automobile. I think it was three times and each time they tried a different door instead of the one where the wheel actually was. Most likely it would have been unlocked since he just got out of it.

There were so many instances where they should have easily been able to kill him and they just let him keep going. I think they wanted to be killed. It was alright with the killing scenes but everything else was just awful.

when chromeskull was walking towards the girl she is holding a knife. rather then stabing him she THROWS it at ck in a sideways motion

Right off the bat you were wrong. For #1 after the camera dies she doesn't say wtf happened. She doesn't say anything, just shakes it briefly which seems like a normal enough reaction. Certainly not worth complaining about.
