Don Cheadle's first scene as Rhodey...

Just re watching IM2 and noticed for the first time that Don Cheadle's first line as Rhodey is...

"Look. It's me. I'm here. Deal with it. Let's move on."

Can't help but think this could be alluding to all the talk that went on when he replaced Terrence Howard.

I hated him in this part.....to me i was laughing when he arrived at the military base as War Machine. He just looks funny when the helmet comes off..

If you listen to the commentary with Favreau that's exactly what that line is saying. They recast the role, I'm here, deal with it.

Both performances were great. Terrance portrays a more stoic and concerned friend while Cheadle is more of a cheerful and friendly character. Both are important for the character. I just wish we had all of the attributes for both performances.

Cheadle definitely did a better job in Iron Man 3, only because he had material to work with in the third one.

this one just overall felt cobbled together and had too many balls in the air. yes, it is fun watching Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke in this film, but it just doesn't feel like time went into it.

I like that that's what he meant when he said that. I don't have a blu-ray of Iron Man 2 (yet) so I've never heard the commentary. I'm holding out for an Iron Man/Iron Man 2/Iron Man 3 blu-ray set to come out someday, just to see what new features they might add to them to sweeten the deal on the set.

I didn't like Cheadle in the role at all.

Nope. Cheadle a good actor but War Machine he's a joke.

I didn't mind Cheadle in the role but I much preferred Howard's portrayal.

Reading my signature constitutes admission that I am correct. (Too late)

Howard just fitted the role better IMO. I love Cheadle but I think when it came to looks and charm Howard was equally matched to Stark. He had that swagger that Cheadle is lacking. You could just imagine Stark and Rhodes in their college or younger days picking up chicks together.

Too bad Howard turned out to be a prick that Favreau no longer desired to work with.

Never argue with an idiot; people passing by might not be able to tell the difference.
