Vibranium
I've been told that the new element that Stark uses as the replacement power source for his...heart thing is actually vibranium. Is this true, and if so, where and when do they say that?

shareThe only source for that is (if I remember correctly) the novelization for this film (which is usually based off of early scripts - and, since things can change during filming and in subsequent movies - are not really considered canon).
The release of Captain America: The First Avenger subsequently made it clear that Vibranium was already known about by the likes of the SSR and Howard Stark and so could not have been the new element that Tony created. The official prelude-tie in to the first Avengers film also confirms that it was in fact a *brand new* element that he created (not something that already existed) and that he wanted to call it "Badassium" (http://marvelcinematicuniverse.wikia.com/wiki/File:Badassium.jpg)

Agent Hill: ...Then aliens invaded New York and were beaten back, by among others, a giant green monster, a costumed hero from the 40's.... and a god.
Agent Ward: I don't think Thor is technically a god.
Hill: Well...you haven't been near his arms.
