I don't recall any mention in the movie of Ivan having superhuman abilities. So how is it then when he first attacked Tony on the race track, Hogan rams his car multiple times into Ivan who is pinned between the car and a wall and Ivan just walks out of there? No human could have survived that. Or am I missing something?

If I remember correctly, his initial whips the exoskeleton on them actually wrapped around his legs as well (you can kind of see it within the torn/ripped portions of his pants as he gets dragged away). The theory (I think) is that those took the brunt of the damage from the car/helped protect him.
