Just re-watched it after 4 yrs & realized why it received poor reviews..

Sorry, while RDJ was as charmingly charismatic as usual, the rest of the movie was just... not that good.

The villain itself was incredibly lame when put up against a flying robotic suit with amazing maneuverability and long-range capabilities. Hardly new news, but as cringe-worthy as ever.

At what point would "genius" Ivan Venko realize he was incredibly out-match by Iron man? That his lame ass suit would get his ass handed to him in 90% of scenarios against Tony Stark. Iron man would have less trouble against him than a T-90 tank. Especially given that their first fight he gave Stark all the space he needed.

We are constantly shown how Iron man destroys armored vehicles from miles away, yet somehow here he feels the need to engage him in close combat?

Overall the villain was not that well thought out, and I couldn't even watch the whole movie again.
