DTV or cinema

IMDb doesn't seem to say this will be DTV, does this mean there will be a cinema release?

reply

No, it's DTV.

reply

in the US its STV and in most of europe germany, spain ,italy etc its a cinema film

reply

Do you really think Seagal will ever come back to the theaters... Like Van Damme did!!!

reply

The only way Seagal will ever see the inside of a movie theater again is if he buys a ticket or gets a job selling popcorn.

reply

Or stars in US3.

reply

or takes a supporting role in another film

looking at his upcoming slate ATD,R,TK and DM then theres alot to look forward to even though they are STV action films at least TK and DM have better production values with voltage pictures backing the films.

i heard form kirk shaw a few months back who said he might make another seagal film in 2009 so seagals certainly got alot of films upcoming thats for sure

reply

The only way Seagal would be back in theaters is if Warner Brothers produces/releases Under Seige 3. We're talking $50,000,000 budget or more. And a diet and serious training on Seagal's part.

reply

Even then it wouldn't happen-- unless perhaps they produced it as an all out spoof comedy.
I just don't think the Under Siege name has the sustained marquee value of something like "Die Hard." It's no better remembered than "Sudden Death."

This will most likely be DTV, though he seriously should go back to realeasing his movies theatrically.I thought "Urban Justice" waas really good, it could have worked in theaters(though I personally didnt like the ending)

reply

I just cant imagine Seagal ever being on the big screen again. He is grossly over weight and just keeps churning out these garbage movies( most of the time ). I wonder if he has any passion for any of these films, I think he just shows up and does his work gets paid and thats it and every now and then one of those movies turns out to be quite good. Atleast dolph Lundgren and Jean Claude have some passion in what they are doing, Seagal just seem's like he does not care, Which is a shame. And with regards to Under Siege 3, Well thats just rediculous, It was never a huge franchise anyway, The first one was great then they just cashed in with a ropey sequal. Either way i will continue to watch his movies.

reply

Although it would be great to see a Seagal movie on the big screen again (Under Siege 3 especially) people need to realise that just because a film gets a Cinema release it doesn't instantly make it a better movie than a DTV release. For instance Belly of the Beast was great and The Glimmer Man was awful.
