Story idea for HARD TO KILL 2

Well I quickly came up with this idea and thought I might find out if it sounds good for a potential sequel to HARD TO KILL, however, I haven't written a script of it but I'll just give a quick summary of what I came up with.

Police investigate the gruesome murders of a group of university students, the investigation eventually leads police to believe that the victims are connected, with only two members of the group left alive the police immediatly look into the possibility that one of them could be next, but when one of the remaining members is killed while being held in police custody, the last one left who so happens to be Sonny Storm, son of retired police detective Mason Storm, is now the killer's last target, and when Mason Storm receives word that his son's life is in danger, he insist on being part of the task force set up to stop the killer, but the police commissoner refuses on account that he is retired and that he is officialy a civilian, so Storm takes it upon himself to attempt to find the killer and find out why he wants to hurt his son, Storm's quest later leads him to believe that someone else outside the group who witnessed a murder is the actual target, and that person is the key to stopping the killer dead in his tracks and finding the people who hired him.

Also I thought about adding a few unexpected twists along the way involving the killer and the witness and developing the father son relationship as well as the character story a bit more due to the fact that Storm's wife was killed in the first, but you could say its a working progress, considering this was something I came up with in 10 seconds, so give me some feedback.
