After a long wait, Seagal is back

I wasn't expecting the world, (Nico and Hard to Kill were superb and set the bar early), but hey Seagal really is back. If you've ever enjoyed this genre or would like to believe in Seagal this movie is your ticket. Really, just watch and learn. It could have been a big multiplex release. His next probably will be. Worth the wait and worth the money. Cool.

Don't mean to ruin your enjoyment, or anything, but even though I think it's nowhere near as unwatchably bad, or downright ridiculous as some of his other movies, it certainly isn't as good as you describe it either. Sure, it's competently filmed for the most part (didn't care too much for the overabundance of close-up shots, though), and some of the gun action sequences are pretty solid, but the story's just bland and uninvolving, the characters lack any personality (even for this type of movie, that is) and Seagal's awkwardly fake accent makes a huge portion of his lines almost completely unintelligible. The only pleasant surprise for me was that he actually does have a lot of screen time in this, so they didn't just whore out his name as fan bait.
