I am very conflicted with this one!

Over the last several years I've become QUITE accustomed to the low quality of Steven's films. I just wasn't prepared for a Seagal outing that fell into the category of "not good, but not bad either".

Steve appears to have lost some weight. Instead of being morbidly obese, he's merely very fat. Most of his lines are voiced by the man himself... if not all of them. I double checked a few lines and I wasn't sure if it was Steve or not.

If this weren't bad enough, it seems as though he's actually getting out of his trailer for the action scenes. There are several shots where he is fully visible MOVING and PERFORMING ASS KICKERY.

... and get this... you're not going to believe it... he actually RUNS. Yes, he runs after a dude in a parking garage. The shot is maybe, 2 or 3 seconds long, but you can see his face and it's STEVEN. Even if his face weren't visible, I'd know it's him... just as he used to back in the late 80's and 90's, he runs like a girl. A freakishly tall, ass kicking, girl.

Sure you can sit around with your buddies and have a little fun trashing on this one, but it's not gonna be like that awesome party you had with Submerged, Attack Force, Into the Sun, or any of the thousands of movies he's done lately.

One thing I guess I can trash is the laughable depiction of the damage a hand grenade does. Steve uses them to take out guys that are 7 feet away while hiding behind a hospital gurney. The grenade makes a guy's face bloody (as if there'd be a face left, or a guy for that matter), and Steven is unaffected per usual (wouldn't have it any other way).

Anyway. You've been warned. This one is almost good. You may not have the good time you were planning on.

At this rate, Steven will be back to the mediocrity he started with in the late 80's by the time he's 60.
