relation to Thick Of It?

Now that peter capaldi is the New Doctor i want to see his work.

How and where does this movie fit into The Thick of it?
I have the series and movies..should i watch the movie first?

It doesn't really matter. The movie and the series stand pretty much for themselves in as much as the movie doesn't fit in with the series' continuity; i.e. essentially all the actors, bar Peter Capaldi as Malcolm Tucker and a couple of others, play other characters (though some of them pretty similar), than they did in the series.

I recommend watching the movie first, especially if you are an American. Then check out the series ... which you may or may not like, as it is a different, though related, animal and style and pace.

I watched the movie first and only caught the series later on.
