I thought I'd give it a shot because there are opinions on both sides (spoilers)
And I just watched the first scene of the first episode, and yeah, Lucas was right, Disney has no idea or they are changing what the force and Jedi mean.
In Lucas's vision Jedi's power was not about their telekinetic capabilities, at least that ability is not significant, it is about their ability to see the future, that is how they could block laser blasts, not because they were fast, but because they could foresee the attack.
That is also why they always win, because they can avoid the fights they could not prevail.
The Jedi order fell as soon as they lost that ability, and the Sith gained it.
But here clearly Jedi are more like mutants with telekinetic powers, that is about it. Even that they did not do very well, who uses light saber to block metal darts? The telekinetic ability should be enough to block them.
And how the Jedi was killed was equally ridiculous, she should be able to cut the assassin down long before she ever throw those knives (yes, both are she).
If you are a star wars fan you are likely going to be enraged, but if you have no idea about star wars then maybe this is for you, but even then it is quite lame.
An female assassin coming to kill the female Jedi declared her intention before the fight, and ask the Jedi to attack first, but clearly not because she was superior, since she was so evidently not. We are told she was a force user, but it was not shown in their fight in any significant way.
And the assassin intended to kill a witness afterwards but given up since the person had children. Why even bother to kill that particular witness in the first place since there were at least 20 people there?
The assassin was a force user, only used knives, no long range weapons, not even a blaster on her. What if someone else uses a blaster against her, is she going to block the laser blast with knives?
It is lame in every possible way, that is just the first scene alone.
Star wars is butchered beyond recognition under Disney, that is my impression after watching the first scene, which is about 5 minutes long.
