I saw the trailer at the theatre this week... It definitely had a video game aesthetic... I thought it was interesting... I can't judge as I haven't seen the full film yet...
Is this something related to the source material? It's based on a cartoon, right?
Just saw the full film... Less a video game aesthetic as it is a version of Cyberpunk... I liked the effectd, although I think they front ended them a lot with most ofnthe effects in the opening sequences...
Still... it did feel very integrated and like a near future city...
It's based on a famous Japanese manga (comic book) series that was previously adapted into anime (animation).
