What's the TV series like?

They turned this into a TV series?

Seriously really?

I thought the movie a 6/10 but seriously this is now a TV show..

reply

Picture being off NZT suffering from the after effects and taking a constipated dump.
Just another example of Hollywood ruining a good idea. ANY good idea tends to get warped in Hollywood. Procedural cop show? YUCK.

reply

Is that what this is?

OK will avoid

reply

Better to make your own opinion: my wife and I like it.

Dexter was essentially a 'procedural cop show' as well. It depends on how you execute it-- the show is a winner in my opinion. But what do I know, I only actually have watched the series before forming my opinion first!

BTW-- 'Dexter' actress Jennifer Carpenter stars in this show too. They even have "Quinn" aka Desmond Harrington as a guest star for multiple episodes. I encourage more series sequels of feature films, or vice versa like Entourage.

HEY BABY LOOK AT MY EYES. I LOVE YA BUT I HATE YOUR LIES.

I just saw the movie for the first time. I really liked it.

When I heard the TV show was a crime drama I knew I wouldn't be in the audience.

The last crime drama I even tried to watch was Tim Roth's show about Lies. It was pretty good, mostly because he was in it.

reply

What show was that?

reply

It was 'Lie to Me'.

Tim Roth is great.

reply

Oh that was a good show. Liked that one a lot.

I'm liking the TV series so far

If anyone who liked the movie is curious, it's apparently an official sequel to the movie

Eddie (still played by Bradley Cooper, who's credited as a producer as well) is now a senator, and is still on NZT despite what he told Carl at the end. As the movie also implied (and the show now confirms), longterm NZT use results not only in enhanced brainpower but severely compromised morality. Eddie may have become something of a Lex Luthor evil genius in the time between the end of the movie and the start of the show.

Part of the show's fun is seeing how a new "Eddie," deals with all those implications.

But yes, it's also yet another crime drama with a "super-powered" protagonist
