Wouldn't it be super tempting to use all your intellect to either on your own or in conjunction with a chemist, try to replicate the compound? I mean if you knew you only had 100 pills you'd be wanting to get onto it pretty quickly.

Make a potion of Fortify Intelligence
Drink it
Make a better potion of Fortify Intelligence with the better intelligence
Drink it
Make an even better potion of Fortify Intelligence with the much better intelligence
Drink it
Make a far better potion of Fortify Intelligence with the extra good intelligence
Drink it
etc.
Until eventually you have an Intelligence of around 5000 points, where the normal "maximum" is 100 points...
