Question about the Korean legal process.

I'm not sure if this is exclusive so Korea, but I've only ever seen it in Korean movies (Lady Vengeance and Madeo -- I decided to post here because this board is livelier than the Lady Vengeance)...

I'm basically talking about the scene where they reenact the crime.

Why is this done? For the benefit of the newspapers and the press? As far as I know, it's not done in America, so it's just a bizarre concept.

sorry about my English in advance.

Korea has quite different legal system than the US.
In any crime case, the main purpose of the law is not limited to find the offender but to find out exactly what happened.
The court has to make a decision based upon tangible truth.
The suspect's confession alone is not enough to put someone in jail in Korea.
The suspect may confess it because he/she was forced to,
or possibly because he is trying to hide something else.

So, simply put, the reenactment is to find out if the suspect's confession is possible, thus true.

I'm confused! Were you apologizing because your English is much better than most people that I know? Seriously I'd have no problem believing that English is your first language.
