shareI don't recall the flashback scene, but it is definitely blood that splatters everywhere. She screams at the shock of what she has just done.
shareI'm pretty sure the liquid was blood, even though I do agree that it was very dark. In a later shot you can see that it's pouring out of the dead guy's head. And she screamed because she realized that she had just killed a man, she was too caught up in the moment until then.

She also seems fairly traumatized by fluids, as evidenced throughout the movie (such as when she watches her kid urinate and then tries to clean it up), which I think relates to her memories of the attempted murder/suicide --- all she recalls is that it made them 'vomit and sh*t water.'

no, she did plan it. she just used a cheaper brand of the product she wanted to use. although im not sure why a cheaper brand would be so far off. or maybe her knowledge of medicine/chemicals was lacking.
