The HBO description of this movie sayssays it's about, 'Gary Webb, pulitzer prize winning journalist'. The end credits say he was not having ever able to work as a journalist again. So when and for what did he win the pulitzer? And.... How do you shoot yourself TWICE in the house head?

The entire staff of the San Jose Mercury News won the [1990] award. They got it for their coverage of the Loma Prieta earthquake. Webb did co-write several stories, but the award does not specifically mention him.

And.... How do you shoot yourself TWICE in the house head?

Multiple gunshot suicides, although rare, do happen. Webb's own family thinks it was a suicide, and its very unlikely a assassin would have missed a kill shot the second time. (IIRC, the second shot missed his brain as well.)
