Straight to DVD and available for pre-order

According to http://www.dreadcentral.com/story/against-dark-screamers-2-art, this movie is going straight to DVD. I don't know how reliable that information is, but there you go.

The first movie went DtV as well, so I don't see why this is a shock.

Are you sure the first one was a DTV release? I first saw it on VHS but I could have sworn it was a theatrical release. Maybe my memory is bad.

The first one premiered at TIFF i believe, followed by a theatrical release and then to VHS.

Thank you! I believe it was Theaters. I believe I remember the newspaper ad for it but it wants in theaters for long.

I honstly hope people do not preorder purchase this until they see the film. I read some reviews from today and it sounds like a really bad sequel. It does explain what happened to Peter Wellers Character from the first.

I hope the movie is better than what I read (sorry no links but I had to search certain places that cater to piracy since those are the people who have seen it.

I hope the movie is better than what I am expecting at this point. I gave the original Screamers an 8/10 because it was a great B movie. I personally think it has more replay value than The Thing and is better in quality to Starship troopers which were all fun B SCIFI movies which I love.

Where in my post do you think I expressed "shock"? I was just passing along the information.

Anyway, as other posters have pointed out, the first one wasn't DTV.

(Sorry to be so slow in replying, but I was staying away from this board to avoid spoilers until I got the DVD.)
