There won't be anyone like him, ever (spoilers)

The ending tells me that the new breed of reproducible cyborg screamer the woman is carrying is going to attempt to take over the world and annihilate all other life. Perhaps breed with humans and kill humans until everyone on earth is a cyborg screamer.

That's how i interpreted it as that makes sense except for one thing: what the guy screamer says to the pregnant woman in the ship, "He's our first, and there won't be anyone like him, ever!"

I don't get it! "He's our first" pretty much implies that there will be more, "and there won't be anyone else like him, ever" states quite clearly that there wont be more.

If he, along with the guy on the ship, are the only screamers heading to earth and there wont be any more, then they're hardly going to annihilate the whole population of planet earth just the two of them.

If the plan is to breed with humans and take over the earth then why say that line which contradicts that.

So I'm asking others who've seen it does the ending make no sense and a total contradiction, or am i missing something?

its the start of the borg.

Maybe it's because he's unique, the first is always unique, the prototype....

It could also be because they're going to be more human now, no human is alike, the same could apply here.

Those are both very good interesting answers. Not sure if either one is correct but certainly possibilities that would solve the problem.

Okay, just watched the movie now, and I reckon there are two possibilities.

1: The scrip writer is an idiot.
2: The cyborg that got killed on the ship just before they took off was right, that part of the mind remains after the transition(I'm staying away from the word assimilated). As in, the child is part robot, but it has the individualism of a human, the ability to think rather then just to do according to it's programing.

Or it could also be her nightmare.

Good point

Both are strong possibilities.

Dude, the screemwriter, the director, and EVERYONE involved with the writing, planning, shooting, and management of this movie are idiots. You noticed just one of the stupid stupid dialog mistakes they made. Heres more:

1. When the team first meets the group of human survivors, the commander tells them all clearly: "We received a distress signal and were sent here to rescue to the survivors." This is followed by one of the survivors replying, "So what do you want?"

2. Continuing from above, the dialog continues: "Screamers broke into our ship and stole the fuel from our fuel cells. Whats worse, in 2 days a Class 10 Magnametric (whatever) storm will arrive and wipe out ALL LIFE ON THIS PLANET. If you help us find new fuel cells, we will bring you with us back to Earth." And the survivor leaders BRILLIANTLY replies in his tough guy tone: "Yeah? And what if we don't help you?"

IDIOTS!

LOL yeah I do remember the 2nd one you mentioned! I remember laughing actually.

Well sure there is some pretty dumb dialogue but it mattered little to the plot mostly but the dialogue I started this topic about was crucial to what happened next; it was the final punchline.

Calling it now, the sequel rips off Species.

Not as good as the first screamers, I actually quite liked the first. This one had it's moments ( when the kids get loose for instance ) but yeah, a dodgy script to say the least.

Anyone wanna see Screamers 3 though? Ravaged warzone Earth split in two and the humans never know who is and who isn't!

Reckon that could actually be quite good. I know I know! Crazy it sounds! I just love a good old 'cheap' sci-fi.

I mean christ it was better than AVP, which had all of what? A single scene going for it.
