Scenes and ideas ripped straight from Alien/Aliens... (SPOILERS!)

There were SO many elements in this movie that were so obviously and directly stolen from Alien/Aliens, I'm sorry to say it ruined it for me. Combined with the slightly contrived acting I can't rate this film too highly.

Anyway, here's what I spotted as Alien-franchise rips - see how many you recognise and please feel free to add more!

1) Camera moving around an empty ship during opening titles.
2) Crew awakening out of cryosleep.
3) Soldier blows himself up with grenade as screamers descend on him.
4) Lone crewman in ship gets taken out by screamer.
5) Crewman who wants to smuggle screamer technology home to Earth.
6) Survivors trapped and infected begging for help.
7) Crew find huge chamber full of dormant screamers.
8) Call to action is an activated distress beacon.
9) 'Ticking clock' is the annihilation of the planet by a storm (as opposed to a dust cloud the size of Nebraska)
10) Confrontation between protagonist and technology smuggler - even with the offer to be cut in and the oh-so-expected refusal of offer!
11) Lance Hendriksen tries to find a way to kill them...
12) Protagonist runs around corridors with flashing lights and computer saying 'Station will self destruct in T minus ... minutes..'
13) Protagonist escapes in space ship only to find she has a screamer on board.
14) Protagonist awakes from cryosleep to learn she is pregnant...

How well did you do? Any I missed?

I was thinking the same thing.

15. Orsow is using the radar locating device to see the screamers approaching the bunker.
16. The human/screamer mouths open and puncture the human skull just like in Alien/Aliens.

Yes but there is one scene not in any Alien(s) movie, or any one I've seen to date -- fellow soldier loses his protective patch, the only thing that will keep the screaming meanies off you, and his friend says here, take mine. I guess since he was the black guy (sorry, don't mean to get racial here) he figured I'm gonna die soon anywaty so I got no use for this. LOL

That protective Tab they each wear... you'd think the could have ran back to the ship and get a spare? It's not like they didn't bring extras? Geez... if anything, you'd think each would wear two.. or they make it so that they just don't come off so easily in combat, etc...

mate u are spot on! i noticed a few of those when i was watching but reading through them now i relise there were heaps more than i picked up on.
if anyone is thinking bout watching this movie just watch aliens instead, at least u will be entertained

Yep.. When i saw the camera panning across the empty ship? i had a sinking feeling i was in for an Alien Rip-off. Especially when the crew was awakening out of cryo sleep. I expected to see a computer automatically turn on and scrolling the names of the crew members.

I also have to add that when i saw the black guy getting his medical examination? i was thinking: "Whelp! homeboy's going to be the first to go."

....and he was...

some days, it's not worth chewing through the restraints..
