So my movie theater had a 'Suicide Marathon'

We have an independent theater where I live and they had what was called a "Suicide Marathon". They gave us about 5 chances to back out (luckily it was only 5 dollars) and nobody did. What it was was, starting at 1 in the afternoon, They played played Date Movie, Superhero Movie, Epic Movie, Meet The Spartans and Disaster Movie back to back. The catch? They locked the doors so you couldn't leave until all 5 movies were finished.

They only locked the bathroom doors so we could still use the bathroom and all that.

Superhero Movie was still one of the worst, along the same suckage as Epic Movie.

That's a cool idea.

I...drink...your...MILKSHAKE!

I DRINK IT UP!!!

That's pretty cool. You should have cheated and brought a laptop and some good dvds, as well as an ipod and some good headphones.

I would not participate, because i almost died when watching the first 15 minutes of disaster movie online.

I bet the local Fire Marshall loved that.

I was about to say the same thing. It's actually illegal what they did, not to mention incredibly stupid. If there was a fire, you all would have died.

Oh don't be such a square you pussy! u have any friends?

Personally, I like these movies but thats horrible! Why would anyone just sit through something they don't like?

reply

That's a fun idea, although I would do it with other movies, these movies simply don't deserve any attention imo. I would do it with like The room, D-war, things like that, movies that are a mess, and not movies that had no effort put into them.

That doesn't make sense. How could they lock the bathroom doors and you could still use them?

I was wondering the same, was there a hole in the door

reply

A glory hole?

reply

They probably just locked the main door to the outside, so that bathrooms could still be used

He brought the X Ray Cat with him, that's how.

Technically that would illegal unless you all signed a contract.

Oh come on. Think of those out having a fun day. It must have been a fun choice that day or it wouldn't have been planned and carried out. Not really my idea of fun, but I digress. They said they locked the doors.

Like any public building that is up to code, the doors might not have been able to be locked from the inside. This sounds like a take off of what happened with the movie Psycho by Hitchcock. The people outside were locked out from starting the movie late and not hear the plea to tell others what was in the movie. It worked. When the audience was told the doors had been locked many thought that meant they were locked in.

The original poster didn't say anyone tried to get out and could not do so. I'm sure the theater manager knew how far to take a joke in their community and didn't cross any lines. I'm just as sure no contracts were needed to be signed.

Technically, you need to lighten up a little.
