Would make a great HORROR movie

read the complete stryline and thell me this wouldnt make a great horror movie. Lost city of Z and it could be about them looking for eldorado and nobody ever returned after leaving and looking for the city; and when they find it would be the lost city of zombies. If done right it would look very well. maybe done in the same way as from dusk til dawn. you dont see any actual zombies until like 45 min into the movie. that way you can get to know the characters a little more. only with a better budget dont use cgi unless actually needed. maybe james wan or Ridley Scott.

maybe done like its found recordings but id probably have to change the story a bit in order for that to work . just a thought. leave a comment let me know what you think.

I think the real story is scary enough--Amazon cannibals and headhunters. Hundreds gone missing searching for the lost explorer, plus thousands in the preceding years.
Why f--k with it? We have enough zombies already.

reply

Then it would be Cannibal Holocaust (which is what I had in mind when I strayed across the project).

reply

I think the way they're making it is going to see like a bit of a horror movie as it is, minus the zombies. There are enough horrible things going on in the jungle with out throwing zombies into the mix.

Darius Khondji is an impressive cinematographer, and Gray an impressive director, this should be good.

This is, to my knowledge, based on the book of the same name following the life and adventure of Percy Fawcett. Adding in horror and zombies kind of goes deep into fiction whereas this is a mostly biographical tale.

This is what I thought as well. I believe I'll see this, as I have been interested in Fawcett's story for decades. I first heard about him in the 1960's when I was a boy.

most unoriginal thing I've ever heard.

I hate people.

Movies are IQ tests; the IMDB boards are how people broadcast their score.

reply

Sort of like the old Adventure films before they got sanitized.

reply

I agree it would make a great horror film but it doesn't have to be zombies, it can be anything from creatures, to booby traps, to aliens, etc, lol!

reply

Wouldn't it end up being like The Green Inferno by Eli Roth? 😉

reply

Never heard of it but too bad it has bad ratings, have you seen it yet? For me, Horror films are good enough if they're at least a 6 but with other films like drama, they need to be an 8/10 at least.

reply

I haven't seen it... But want to... I liked a couple of his other movies, Cabin Fever and Knock Knock...

reply

Ok. Maybe I'll give it a shot.
