So why did they want to lock up Sly for good?
I didn't quite grasp why whoever wanted to lock up Stallone for life. What was the point? Thanks.

It was a double cross by his business partner who wanted him out of the way.
Its that man again!!
Thanks. I realize that his partner double crossed him, what I don't understand is why. What financial or other type of benefit did he have to disappearing Stallone?
Thanks.

At the end its explained that Breslin was hired to infiltrate the prison to free Rotmayer by his daughter
The deal was set up by Lester (Stallones partner) but he was offered a different deal - if Breslin couldn't escape he would get the job running the whole deal with a salary of 5million a year - without rewatching I think they offered 5 mllion for the Tomb prison job which they state is twice the normal fee...obviously he wouldn't have to split it either
It was one of the weakest parts of the film IMO.
Caprica/SGU/Firefly/Farscape/TSCC - Sometimes I wonder why I bother
Thanks!

Ok, so what happened with the original deal where the daughter (CIA agent) offered Breslyn's company $5mill or whatever to infiltrate the secret prison?
At the end, the all met up and happy at the beach? So the daughter never paid up for sending him that the illegal prison to break out her dad??? Breslyn should be pissed at the beach, no?
Another reason this theory doesn't make sense is that Sly has a code word. So if he can't escape the prison, he admits defeat and uses the code word. Thus admitting that the prison is inescapable--there is NO reason to keep him there for life. I seriously can't come up with one possible explanation.
"That is terrible advice, Ant1238."

I think the point was to prove that if they could keep him in there for life, the prison was definitely inescapable.
