Stallone

I haven't seen a Stallone movie in ages and I just watched this one and I found him very hard to understand. I'm not trying to be rude but has he had a stroke or something because he slurs his words and he sounds like a stroke victim.

reply

You've saved me starting a thread. All I heard from him was a low rumble throughout. Ruined it for me.

reply

I must admit, even though I enjoyed the movie, I had to pause it when Stalone said that he used to be a lawyer. I couldn't stop laughing for some time.

reply

Understood him just fine. There's this thing called listening, you should try it sometime.

Who says violence is not the answer?

reply

I listened, but still couldn't hear anything intelligible from him.

reply

I suffer from hearing loss and understood him fine. What's your excuse?

Who says violence is not the answer?

reply

Exactly!

reply

I had problems as well. I put on the closed captioning for the whole film.

reply

He was far less intelligible in Over the Top but that is because the dialogue was cringe-worthy and unlistenable.

@kitty145684 Part of his face is paralyzed (yes, really), he always talks like that.

reply

I have watched many movies of his, some are actually some of my favourite movies, and I have understood him perfectly fine.

It's just in this movie his slurs his speech quite a bit. I don't know, maybe he did it for the character? I was just wondering if anything had happened to him because it's a big difference from the other movies I've seen him in.

reply

He's always been like that. When he was born the doctors used a forcep to bring him into the world, clipping the nerve in his face, therefore paralysing half of it. Hence the slurring speech. It's his natural way of talking.

reply

wow you should be a comedian

reply

Wow,you sound like a total douche.

reply

Troll.

Complications his mother suffered during labor forced her obstetricians to use two pairs of forceps during his birth; misuse of these accidentally severed a nerve and caused paralysis in parts of Stallone's face. As a result, the lower left side of his face is paralyzed – including parts of his lip, tongue, and chin – an accident which has given Stallone his snarling look and slightly slurred speech.

reply

How is that being a troll? It's actually true.

Anyhow, I understood him just fine and I've got bad hearing.

reply

I replied to the one calling the other mentioning the fact a comedian, .. cause yes, it is true.

reply

Oh and yeah, speaking of which, I can understand Stallone fine as well (better than most actors :P).

reply

Although I do agree that he doesn't speak as clear as most others I never really had any trouble understanding him, not even in this one.

reply

i agree. and i'm glad it's not just me. i thought i didn't understand because english is not my first lanuguage :)

reply

You are the one who had the stroke boy. He's always talked like that and its VERY intelligible.

reply

Lol...

reply

Intelligible or not he gave a very wooden performance.

reply

I think you're suffering from too many wooden performances up your @ss.

reply

reply
