Black Lone Ranger
It's interesting to know that the real Lone Ranger was a runaway slave called Bass Reeves. Bass parted company with Slave driver during the Civil war. "Bass Reeves fled north into the Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) and lived with the Cherokee, Seminole, and Creek Indians until he was freed by the Thirteenth Amendment in 1865.He was recruited by the Marshalls because he knew the Inian territories and spoke some of thier languages making him the first African-American deputy west of the Mississippi River.Reeves worked for thirty-two years as a Federal peace officer in the Indian Territory. He was one of Judge Parker's most valued deputies. Reeves brought in some of the most dangerous criminals of the time, but was never wounded, despite having his hat and belt shot off on separate occasions.Once he had to arrest his own son for murder.
In addition to being a marksman with a rifle and pistol, Reeves, during his long career, developed superior detective skills. When he retired in 1907, Reeves claimed to have arrested over 3,000 felons. He is said to have shot and killed fourteen outlaws to defend his own life. He had help from a Native who was tracker and medicine man and was said to ride on a white horse.
Now that's a movie I would've loved to see lol but im guessing that's why the white version wears a "Coon" mask sorta as a twisted homage to Bass Reeves.
Quick note another great movie would be of the African Samurai who was the only black person to visit japan some time in the 1500S. His name was Yasuke and his story is awesome especially how the Japanese reacted when they first saw him lol.
So much interesting stories I wonder why these Black characters never get thier films lol.
