Which is worse?

This remake or the 1981 version?

I'll just stand over here being happy

I don't remember the 1981 version. This one, however, is so weird and screwed up I wouldn't consider it to be a remake

1981 was easily the worst.

This one is actually a good film, but made before its time. It's made for open minded people of the future. There isn't any divisiveness or hate in this film. And it's mature.

It's mature because it depicts the supernatural acts as "supernatural", which contrasts the weakness of the 1981 movie, and other "loser" movies for bubble boys. That's much of the reason the 1981 version is so dull and unwatchable.

In other words, the 1981 movie tries to show that men are gods with supernatural powers, for natural reasons. That's a concept for losers who never have been in Nature, who live in cubicles. The 1981 version, like most Hollywood movies from about 1965-1985, tries to say some men are demi gods, and can only be killed by other demi gods, which is okay if one attributes this to the supernatural. However, this era tries too hard to attribute it to Republican achievement awards that men do it all on their own. If you're from Krypton, okay, I buy the super powers. But if not, then it's for losers and bubble boys.

This one succeeds because it jumps the shark by saying that you only jump the shark for reasons outside of Nature.

I actually enjoyed the 1981 movie. That actually felt more like a Lone Ranger movie. Also the fact they got a real Indian to play tonto really helped. Yeah it was a bit long to get to see the Lone Ranger, but I never felt bored while watching it like this one did. While this one wasn't bad it just wasn't a good Lone Ranger movie.
