Boogeyman 1 was horrible. Didn't even know there was a part 2, was it any good? And the high ratings on part 3... shills or real?

I gave Boogeyman 1(2005) a 5 - I was generous AND that farmhouse was very cool
Boogeyman 2 a 7 - more a gore/slasher flick, but reasonably well done, IMO
Boogeyman 3 (and incidentally the one from 1980, too) a 6 - back to supernatural, but much better done than Boogeyman 1 - and they attempted to link the 3 movies together, not altogether successfully. But they tried.
The first one Boogeyman a 6... not a bad start.
Number 2 was ok but had less of a story and more gore if you are into that. Number 3 was just okay, I'd rate it around a 3 or 4, because Erin Cahill and Chuck Hittinger were fairly believable but it just wasn't very good overall
