Why is Boogeyman 1 the only one with a happy ending?

Spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen the movie. But why does this film and boogeyman 2 end on a bad note. In boogeyman 2, the serial killer basically got away, which meant he was alive and large killing whoever. Then in this one the main character assumengly dies at the end. It kind of puts a downer on things.

Boogeyman 1 from 2005 was an alright film, but the thing i liked it the most how the story built up to how the main character had to stand up for himself by the end. He kept running away from his problems and fears, but he finally did it at the end by fighting the Boogeyman. It has a lot of good emotion, and really made you feel good at the end. The last two installments had a really depressive tone to them, like no matter what you do you are screwed. I guess some people like that, but i am not a fan of it.

A lot of people rip on the original boogeyman film from 2005, but i think it was the best out of the 3, and the story was really well structured and delivered.

Well, the first one might have showed a happy ending, but if you remember in the second one, when she was reading through files and old newspapers you will see that the main character from the first movie was dead from suicide (I think it was suicide) or it might have hinted that the Bogeyman had actually gotten to him. I think that's the only thing that the 2nd one had to do with the first one because the Bogeyman wasn't even REAL in the second one, it was an actually person doing the killing, and then for number 3 they switch back to the Bogeyman being real (or as real as a Bogeyman can be). Does that make sense? lol

The question you should be asking is, why were Boogeyman 2 and 3 even made? That i would like to know.

Someone thought the "Boogeyman" name was worth making a few more bucks on in DVD sales of future productions using the name. First one wasn't a huge hit so I don't know where that came from. But is was most likely DOLLAR SIGNS.

Well this looked like "THE GRUDGE" 10 more than Boogeyman 3. Going into the Grudge house curses you... Believing in the B-Man through word of moutch gets you killed. Both have long stringy hair. Once you're you believe you can't escape it no matter what you do. ETC.

Not only is the ending a downer, but it didn't make a whole bunch of sense.
The girl didn't tell the Cops about the B-man because she knew if they believed the killing would keep going on. She didn't realize that people would still have it in their minds, "could the Boogeyman be real" no matter what happened to her.
The cops saw an invisible force taker her up into the elevator shaft. How could they not think something was supernatural there.

Not a bad idea. But even for a fictional Horror movie, the logic was stupid.
