Here in Sweden The Muppets were wildly popular in the 70s/early 80s. I don't think it has sustained in the mind of people enough to warrant a theater-release though.
No harm though since this movie didn't have much of the humor that I find funny from the original Muppet Show and Muppets Tonight. It was more of a drama than a comedy for me.
Instead of funny bits with Beaker, Sam the Eagle, The Chef, Pigs in Space, and most of all Lew Zeeland (the best name of a character there ever has been), I got stupid musical numbers with synchronized dancing.
That's pure bullcrap.
I gave it 4/10.
