Wow... 7.4 is a really low rating for this movie.

It's just surprising to me. The movie received critical acclaim and was probably my favourite movie of 2011, yet it's got a rating that puts it among much lesser movies. Is this in part simply cynicism at Disney's involvement? Bias due to the fact that a lot of screen time is given to a new Muppet? Maybe some people were just looking for a reason to dislike a Muppet movie after all these years.

For some movies, I would consider 7.4 a good score... however, I feel this deserves better, being a movie that had me feeling a strong sense of joy throughout its entire run time.

Or is it just a case of Internet Contrarian Disorder?

Something is well liked, therefor it must be overrated?

7.4 is great. it's actually just behind muppet movie (7.6)... and just .1 behind chistmas carol with twice as many votes. ahead of all the others

but no one know how imdb even figures out their number

and the ratings on this site have been so skewed by fake rating that they are mostly meaningless at this point

As far as I'm concerned, Muppet movies in general get a bum rap on IMDb. I mean, Muppets Take Manhattan has a 6.7, as does Treasure Island. And Follow That Bird has 6.3, while on Rotten Tomatoes it has 91%.

RTjust judges reviews based on good or bad not how good or how bad.

I prefer metacritic. That site gives value to each review.

Rotten Tomatoes also gives an average rating, of which The Muppets has a 7.9. Not a huge difference, but by Rotten Tomatoes standards it's a pretty darn good score.

BS.

I like to be a contrarian by voting against the "contrarians". They are really conformists of the worst sort. Those that think they are better just for the very fact they are against the crowd. Sometimes the crowd is right. Sometimes it isn't. In the case of this movie, the fact that nearly 75% of people liked it seems pretty good to me. You can't please all the SOB faux news watchers.

I agree. It should be much higher.

It's 7.3 now and that's still far too high, IMO. This was my least favourite of The Muppet films,
