Why didn't Kermit just sell his mansion?

I'm sure that would have netted $10M dollars. Of course, then the movie would've been 15 minutes long.

Hehe, that did seem to jump out at us when they brought up the question of how to raise $10m while sitting in a huge mansion full of expensive memorabilia.

In an earlier version of the script, Kermit was just supposed to be care-taking the mansion-- collecting the mail and cleaning the pool. That's why he was carrying a toolbox in his first appearance at the gate. But the lines got cut and the plot hole was left behind.

It's kind of same as when they hit $999,999 and neither of the characters so emotionally devastated that they will lose their name and their show did not contribute a spare buck from their own money to save themselves.

He was attached to it. Besides where would he have lived, the streets?
