Why was Jim Hensons legacy not involved
Why were none of the children working on this or at least Jim given credit. If Jim inspired Jason he should have at least said thank you

shareI cant beleive they sold the rights to disney, at least they should had a clause to leave in Jim'Henson's Muppets.
Its sad not to see any credit given to him other than : FIlmed partially at Jim Henson Studios
Jim Henson was going to sell The Muppets to Disney before he died. Why don't people seem to understand this?
___________
INSIGHTFUL SAYINGS!
Yes, that is true. It is also why Henson's family agreed to go ahead and sell to Disney after Jim's death. BUT they have since said that they regret the decision, based on Disney's disrespectful handling of The Muppets. Jim Henson probably would have regretted it too if he saw what was going on now.
What, you've never heard of "the famous" Kevy Nova?
Exactly!
Everybody here needs to stop with all these false accussations and getting their pants tied in knots.
Besides, Disney is doing a great job with the Muppets, better than they were under The Jim Henson Company after Jim died.
What exactly did the Jim Henson Company make after Jim died that you didn't like? Muppet Christmas Carol was the first thing they produced after he died and that was produced by Disney as was Muppet Treasure Island and I believe they produced Muppets Tonight as well.

One of the center photos in Kermit's home was of Jim Henson and Kermit. I thought it was a nice subtle way to acknowledge that he was the true center of the Muppet universe. I agree they could have at least included his name in the billing though.
shareIt seems that Brian Henson has been tied up with his own muppetesqe venture, The Happytime Murders, so I'm sure he was like "...either give 50% on Muppets and Happytime Murders....or give 100% to Happytime Murders so I can give the film a rich, true, enlightened movie-going experience.

That Jim Henson not only received NO credit at all for his creation, but that Disney had to balls to take the credit he should have been given, is proof enough to me of how much of a bad mistake it was for Henson's family to sell the Muppets to Disney.
Look during the end credits of the film to see a line that reads, "Based on Disney's Muppet Properties and Characters".

In any other movie ever made, this line would read something like, "Based on characters created by Jim Henson and other Muppet creators".
Disney has this "camp underwear" mentality. They feel the need to put their name on everything they own, even if they didn't create it, lest anyone think they don't own it. They have to flaunt their ownership of the characters every chance they get. You may notice that Disney's name appears above "The Muppets" title on all promotional materials - Jim's name appears nowhere - though thankfully the title stands alone in the movie itself. Even though they own the characters lock, stock, and barrel, without Jim, there would be no Muppets for Disney to own and exploit.

"Based on Disney's Muppet Properties and Characters" is because Disney doesn't own all the Henson characters, only the main Muppet line. They don't own Sesame Street or any of the side projects like Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas, etc., so they're differentiating between the two.
Jim still deserves a spot in the credits though. Something along the lines of "Based on Disney's Muppet Properties and Characters Created by Jim Henson."

The Muppets are now owned by Disney so they don't work on it anymore. True, I think they should've done something on it, but they have other projects.
