Didn't laugh once
The people in this movie were SO not funny. This was the worst movie ever!

Go watch your stupid mindless drivel like Larry The Cable Guy, which is probably what you like if you couldn't find this funny. This movie was hilarious in parts but it was never meant to be a laugh-out-loud comedy but rather focus on subtle comedy and the character developments. It's a dark comedy that actually has a story. It's serious, it's lighthearted, it's funny, it's sad, it's life and definitely one of the more realistic and original movies Judd has ever come up with.

shareForty minutes into this movie and I hoped that Adam Sandler really did have a terminal illness. I kept waiting for it to pick up and become the source of entertainment for which I paid the rental charge. But alas, even Happy Gilmore or Little Nicky are like Citizen Kane when compared to this disaster. Furthermore, Adam Sandler turned down a role in Inglourious Basterds to make Funny People. WTF?
Then again, I am just a Joe Sixpack sitting here being an amateur film critic and that's about the extent of my Hollywood expertise. I guess they can't all be winners. I just think a lot of folks expected a little more from Apatow and Sandler. Gallows humor, personal introspection, and irony were obviously the intended focal points, albeit missed, and I guess you have to give them a little credit for trying. My 2 cents.

I hated it, Sandler WASN'T funny, there was far too many sexual and penis jokes.
and the characters were not people you would want to root for or relate to.
and Bana just disgusted me. I thought he was a decent actor. Obviously not.
And the people in Happiness aren't very happy
