Wow this was... brilliant!

Totally did not expect this kind of movie from apatow. Too bad the dumb marketing killed this movie.

I loved it, and yeah, marketing was a problem. Judging by all the "didn't laugh once" comments on this board, it seems that the general perception was that it was a classic Apatow comedy. People really need to do a little more research themselves, though, before they lay out there ten bucks.

Of course the ending was a bit disappointing. I figured Apatow would have gone with a sad ending coinciding with all the other sad conclusions in the film. Them ending up being friends or whatever is not really the proper finale for a movie like this. But ... still a really great movie overall. Never thought apatow would be the one to tell it like it is in life. In life, people break up, fight, argue, stab each other in the back, go back on promises, lie, cheat, steal, etc. This was a drama disguised as a comedy because the studio figured no one wants to see a serious movie written and directed by a clown, starring a bunch of clowns. possibly the most self indulgent movie ever made too. all that jewish humor, all the movie references, apatow even cast his wife and kids in the friggin thing. this will be a great cult movie one day.
