Cable Guy and Funny People

By the mass previews on all major networks they were both comedies, but comedic moments do not a comedy make. One of Jim Carrey's best performances was the former; likewise Adam Sandler's and Seth Rogen's is the latter. Funny People is about the REAL life of comedians, not the times on stage where we are blessed with their humor. Funny People is a great movie where one surpasses the idea that you're always supposed to laugh at comics (a trait the also sadly realistic look at mental illness Cable Guy delivers and with a more sober perspective in Funny People.) If you haven't seen it and read this post, know that Funny People is a TREMENDOUSLY good movie, yet a serious one, and don't expect the "Comedy" label in the Redbox to represent what the film is actually about in any significant manner. If you are that person reading this and enjoy character driven and meaningful stories, then watch and enjoy.

You're not a demon, are you?

well said sir. i thoroughly enjoyed this film VERY much, in fact, it has become my favorite Apatow film. it was the best directed, acted, and written film that he has made imo. i just with more people would understand it and not be such idiots and have s#itty reasons why they hate a movie. i find it funny that i gave both knocked up and 40 YOV a 9 and on imdb they both sit at a 7.5 but i gave FP a 10 and it sits at 6.6.

If you do good, you'll see me one more time. If you do bad, you'll see me.. two more times.
