None of the characters are likeable

That's the main reason this movie is not good. Every character is so unrelatable and unlikeable, they're all cheaters, liars, and backstabbers.

Not to mention that Seth Rogen was a bad choice for Ira. I have no problem with Seth Rogen as the lead, Knocked Up was great, but someone else should've played Ira (I think Jason Segal would've been good).

Rogen was one of the few good things about the movie. I found him very kind and relatable. He was a sweet guy and I felt bad for him that he had to be this douchebag's underling that just wanted a cute girl and enough money off his comedy career to not work at a deli.

"Oh, my God. Bear is driving! How can that be?!"

I have to disagree.

The character's are all flawed, but it's flaws, weaknesses, that make characters relatable, that make them human. Its what makes the few scenes where they show decency really work. Its life; we all struggle to be good people. And the people in this film can find comedy in everything, and that is their redeeming quality.

It's what Apatow does exceptionally well in this film and Forgetting Sarah Marshall; making real characters, avoiding the easy cliches, making nothing black and white. More importantly, these films have nice, organically told storylines, unlike alot of other comedies where the story, what little there is of it, exists as a vehicle for jokes.

That came off pretty fan-boyish actually; don't get me wrong, his films are far from perfect. =S
