He is a jet season ticket holder, but he wore a giants shirt in this movie.

I think he was pretending. Like how Jimmy Fallon is a Yankees fan but pretended to be a Red Sox fan in Fever Pitch. Oftentimes, actors pretend to be something that they are not in real life.

Actually, there is a scene where he is talking with Andy Dick and he is wearing a Titans Of New York shirt which was the original name of the Jets.
