A stand up comedian with a bad memory? Huh???

Love Sandler (as long as he keeps his new BFF Kevin James out of his films - guess just a concidence the 3 (1 just a cameo) but all 3 sucked!) But movie was ok, nothin special. But didnt really relize till just now how stupid that last scene at the grocery store was. He tells Rogan as he gets the papers of jokes out of his pocket "ya i wrote them down, my memory is for *beep* Hmmm? A stand up comic, not too mention, a famous one and obvisouly a very successful one also. HAS A BAD MEMORY? Im pretty sure, there is nothing more important to be a good stad up comic, then a GOOD memory! Cause even if you didnt write the jokes or get help. You need to remeber the jokes you were told and the ones you wrote yourslef. Sure delivery is important too, but that too has alot to do with the order of the way you used your jokes, timing - witch is MEMORY!. But hearing a stand up comic say his memory is for *beep* Like hearing a cook say, my taste buds are gone! That comment could not have been any more stupider. And dont want to hear he became an actor. He and all comics always still love to do standup. Dont think becoming a famous actor also, effects your memory. Unless he had the kind of cancer that takes away his memory? Nice line to end the movie on.

Yes, cancer and many cancer treatments greatly affect your memory... haven't you ever heard of "chemo brain"?

Your memory gets worse as you get older especially when you hit your 40s as George was. He said "My memory is for sh-- now". Meaning it was better when he was younger. It's just a fact of life. When you get older you have to work harder to remember stuff. Also, George was depressed and stressed and that can affect your memory as well. Exercise helps your memory and he didn't seem to do much except sex. But you need more than that.

George Carlin: It's all bullsh-t and it's bad for ya.

Having a bad memory doesn't make you incapable of memorizing things. You just have to try harder and in this case there was no reason to bother.

"That comment could not have been any more stupider."

hahaha, you are an idiot.

There is a difference between writing and performing. When a comic performs on stage, just like an actor in a play they have memorized what they are going to say. In writing, you put down ideas, and it's easy to forget them. So he wrote them down, which is what all writers do. Chris Rock (a real comic) was interviewed and he writes on his iPad all the time, and then develops the ideas into his act. Musicians also write down good ideas on paper and sing them to record them to capture the idea so they won't forget it, even though they can do a 1-2 hour performance from memory.

Having written a considerable amount of stand up, I can tell you that if you think of a joke, and don't write it down, you may not remember it an hour later. All comedians carry around a notebook constantly to write down anything that they may use.
