I saw this movie on tv last night and while its a great movie, its just way too long. But as I was watching it, I realized it was paced out enough to where it could have been split up into like 6 25 minutes episodes. Would have been perfect as an HBO miniseries.

You're definitely on to something. In my opinion the movie's biggest problem was pacing along with multiple underdeveloped plots and constant storyline changes. I think it could have benefited from the miniseries format with spaces in between episodes for the audience to catch its breath. And having extra time devoted to developing certain parts of the story (ex. Ira's roommates, his relationship with Daisy, George making peace with his family).
